Adam and Eve — Lucas Cranach the Elder

Lucas Cranach the Elder’s Adam and Eve, dated 1538, presents the first couple within the biblical narrative of Genesis through the distinctive elegance of the Northern Renaissance. Cranach’s stylised figures, precise contours, and meticulous attention to the natural world lend the scene a poised yet contemplative character, evoking humanity’s innocence and the solemn consequences of temptation. This museum-inspired reproduction honours the spiritual significance and refined artistry of the original work, offering a compelling image of one of the Old Testament’s most enduring stories. Printed as a premium matte fine-art print on 200 gsm paper, it brings Cranach’s devotional vision into spaces of reflection and sacred-art appreciation.

Our museum-inspired reproductions are printed on premium 200 gsm matte paper, with edge-to-edge artwork and supplied unframed.

To prepare selected historical artworks for fine-art printing, we digitally enhance images where necessary, including adjustments to brightness, contrast and colour balance. These refinements are intended to improve print reproduction while respecting the character of the original artwork. Colours and tonal values may therefore differ from the original painting.
